Teachers get less paperwork

The Ministry of Education has determined a list of mandatory documents that teachers, educators, class teachers and other employees of the education system will work with. The teacher has only four points.

The Decree of the Ministry No. 164 of December 27 clearly defines the list of documents that school teachers and educators must maintain.

So, the teacher keeps only four required documents: a class journal, calendar-thematic planning, lesson planning, student diaries.

Class teacher - 5 documents: class journal, work planning (for half a year), socio-pedagogical characteristics of the class (maintained up to date throughout the year, corrected if necessary), student's personal cards, students' diaries.

Educator - 3 documents: a journal of an extended day group of institutions of general secondary education, calendar and thematic planning for a quarter, daily planning.

The resolution also states that local education departments should not “allow the practice of maintaining documents that are not provided for by the resolution.”

Separately, it is stipulated that educational institutions can be involved in the activities of other state bodies only in agreement with the ministry. The department also demanded that education departments “exclude the practice (…) of involving teachers (…) in the performance of work not related to the performance of their labor functions.”

Recall that at the Big Pedagogical Council last year, Alexander Lukashenko demanded that teachers be relieved of their unusual functions and warned the Minister of Education and governors that “documents relating only to education and upbringing” should be sent to the school.
