Criminal weekend

This is the end of the New Year's weekend, which lasted 4 days. Our small country rested from December 30 to January 2. A relatively long rest (for comparison, in Russia, the weekend will last until January 8) was accompanied by libations of alcohol. For many, these days were the last.

For 4 days on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, 14 people died from criminal acts, of which 4 people were killed (Slutsk, Brest, Pruzhany district and Khotimsky district), and 3 (Slutsk, Pruzhany district and Khotimsky district) - close relatives.

In Slutsk on December 31, 1017 at 06.00, the body of a woman, born in 1976, was found in her apartment. It was preliminary established that from 17.00 on December 30 to 05.00 in a quarrel, during the joint drinking of alcoholic beverages, she was beaten by her cohabitant, born in 1984, who was detained. Both are non-working.

In Brest, on December 31, 2017 at 05.30, the corpse of a man, born in 1978, was found in his apartment with multiple stab wounds to the body. It was established that at about 05.00 in a quarrel, being in a state of intoxication, he was killed by a resident of Zhabinka, born in 1998, who was detained.

In the village of Zinovichi, Pruzhany district, on December 31 at 18.00, the corpse of a pensioner, born in 1956, was found in her apartment with traces of beatings. It was preliminary established that at 17.00 in a quarrel, after joint drinking of alcoholic beverages, her son living together, born in 1983, who was detained, killed her with her hands and feet.

In the village of Zabelyshin, Khotimsky district, on January 2, 2018 at 01.00 in her house, a pensioner, born in 1955, in a quarrel, after drinking alcohol together, killed her husband, born in 1950, with a knife.

In addition to 4 murders, 2 attempted murders were committed in the country - in the city of Brest and in the city of Pinsk.

In Brest on January 1, 2018 at 11.30 in his apartment, a previously convicted person, in a quarrel, after drinking alcohol together, tried to kill a local resident with a knife, who was hospitalized with stab wounds of the body. Both are non-working. The suspect has been detained.

In Pinsk on January 3, 2018 at 04.30 in his apartment, a man, born in 1978, in a quarrel, after drinking alcohol together, doused and set fire to two local residents, both born in 1979, who were hospitalized. All non-working. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Art. 14, part 2 of Art. 139 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. The suspect has been detained.

During the New Year holidays, despite all the efforts made by the employees of the State traffic inspectorate, 10 people died on the roads of Belarus.

Near the village of Onzhadovo, Oshmyany district, on December 30, 2017, at 14:00, an unemployed local resident, driving a homemade tractor, drove into a ditch, overturned and died.

In Slonim on 12/30/2017 at 14.10 "DAF" hit a local resident, born in 1981, who died.

Near the village of Semenets, Polotsk district, on December 30, 2017 at 17.35, a resident of Novopolotsk, driving a Renault car, hit a resident of the village of Mezhno, born in 1981, who was riding a bicycle, who died.

In Vitebsk on 12/30/2017 at 18.35 "Opel" ran over a local resident, born in 1956, unemployed, who died.

In Mozyr on December 30, 2017 at 5:45 pm, a Volkswagen ran over a local resident, born in 1966, who died.

In the village of Polota, Polotsk district, on January 1, 2018 at 15.30, a resident of Novopolotsk, driving a Citroen car without a driver’s license (deprived until September of this year), drove into a ditch, hit a tree and died.

In Minsk on January 2, 2018 at 13.50 in the courtyard of the house number 1 on the street. Korzhenevsky "MAZ" hit a pensioner who died.

In Miory on January 2, 2018 at 19.55, a Volkswagen ran over two pensioners crossing the roadway outside the pedestrian crossing. As a result, one died and the other was taken to the hospital.

Near the village of Rudnya Gorbovichskaya, Kalinkovichi district, on January 2, 2018 at 14.50, a Volkswagen towed a walk-behind tractor on a flexible hitch under the control of a pensioner. As a result of a cable break and a collision of vehicles, the latter fell onto the roadway and died from his injuries at 18.45 in the hospital.

Near the village of Cherlena, Mostovsky district, on January 3 at 00.40, a resident of Pinsk, driving a Mazda car, ran over a resident of the village of Lunno (marked with retroreflective elements), who was lying on the roadway, and died.

In addition to murders and traffic accidents, 1 robbery was committed over the weekend (Bobruisk), the perpetrators of which were detained and five thefts. I would like to pay tribute to law enforcement officers - all the stolen cars were found, and the hijackers were detained. In addition, the hijacking committed in April 2017 was revealed.

Concluding the criminal review of the weekend, one cannot fail to note the district inspector of the Svisloch District Department of Internal Affairs, who on the night of December 30-31, in a forest near the village of Lashevichi, while making moonshine, detained an unemployed resident of the village of Sokolniki. A moonshine still and 114 liters of moonshine were confiscated, and 1,500 liters of mash were destroyed.
