Noise strips have been installed on the roads in the Belarusian capital

The tram, paradoxically, turned out to be a very dangerous mode of transport for the inhabitants of Minsk. The reason for this is not the technical characteristics, but the fact that boarding and disembarking is carried out on the roadway. Motorists sometimes do not have time to notice passengers. The result is accidents and casualties.

According to experts, over the past year and a half, 22 accidents have been recorded in the capital of the republic, in which 1 person died, another 23 received various injuries. All incidents took place near tram stops.

This summer, the traffic police of Minsk decided to conduct an experiment and install noise strips 1 centimeter high on problematic roads.

They should warn drivers of cars and trucks about approaching a dangerous area and the need to be very careful. Foam concrete "novelties" have appeared on three streets so far - Dolgobrodskaya, Pervomaiskaya and Ulyanovsk.

In that case, they will bring benefits and improve safety, the money will be allocated to other roads where the "horned" go.
