U.S. Elections - Donkeys vs. Elephants

What is happening in the United States today causes many cognitive dissonance. In the most "democratic" country, presidential candidates accuse each other of falsification, declare their victory and almost call to defend the "gains of democracy" with weapons in their hands. Moreover, the "conquests of democracy" will also be defended from both sides. Well, good always triumphs over evil. Whoever wins is good.

And it seems that both the Democrats, represented by Joe Biden, one of the last irreconcilable "hawks", and the Republicans with Donald Trump, stand up for one thing - democracy and American values ​​all over the world. But they have different American values.

Democratic Party

The symbol of the Democratic Party is the donkey, which stubbornly overcomes all difficulties. "Donkeys" are in favor of increasing spending on the social sphere and, accordingly, raising taxes. They are friendly to various minorities - sexual, national (remember Barack Obama, it was under him that a stream of migrants from Asia poured into Europe, and under Trump, as everything calmed down). They stand for the adaptation of migrants to American everyday life and the protection of the environment, in particular, for the fight against the greenhouse effect (Long live Greta Thunberg!)

Democrats are against the death penalty and the open arms trade, in foreign policy they prefer diplomacy in words, but in reality they  send their beloved marines  to any country (except for those for which a “response” can fly) to “spread democracy”.

The party enjoys great popularity among the working class.

Republican Party

In contrast to the stubborn donkey, a huge African elephant acts, threatening with its tusks and mass. Unlike Democrats, Republicans are in favor of reducing government spending on healthcare and education, and, accordingly, tax cuts. They stand up for increasing the military power of the country and family values. Republicans are against same-sex marriage, legalization (legalization of soft drugs), do not consider it necessary to spend a lot of money on the fight against gases that adversely affect nature and the ozone layer. "Elephants" are big fans of the second amendment to the US Constitution (freedom of circulation of firearms).

Republicans are in favor of limiting the influence of trade unions and reducing the role of the state in managing the economy.
