September 15, Minsk / Vladimir Matveev - BELTA /. Opportunities to start your own business without registering as an individual entrepreneur will be expanded in Belarus. Head of State Alexander Lukashenko supported the relevant draft decree "On regulation of the activities of individuals", which was discussed at a working meeting between the President and Minister of Taxes and Duties Sergei Nalivaiko, BelTA has learned.

The draft decree provides for the expansion of the list of economic activities that citizens have the right to engage in without registration as individual entrepreneurs, subject to the payment of a single tax. The document is included in a package of legislative acts that are being prepared as part of the development of entrepreneurship and the stimulation of the business activity of the population.

According to Sergei Nalivaiko following the report, the head of state supported the proposed innovations. Currently, the Tax Code already has 18 types of activities for which individuals have the right to carry out the simplest types of activities in a declarative manner.

“That is, two conditions must be met: filing an application, registering with the tax authorities and paying taxes. These are activities such as trading up to 5 days during a month or providing some simple services, such as assistance in farming. There are minimum rates, which are determined and approved by the regional councils or the Minsk City Council,” the minister said. — There are 18 types of activities. They already are. In addition to them, this draft decree proposes another 12 types of activities. I think that this is the direction we need to go in terms of bringing the business out of the shadows.”

Sergei Nalivaiko did not rule out that over time there will be even more such activities. “It is possible that this list will expand. The fact that it is not closed is for sure,” he said.

As BelTA learned, the list is expected to be expanded by such activities as the sale of culinary products self-made by citizens, the provision of places for short-term residence of individuals, the execution of consumer orders for the repair of furniture, watches and shoes, tailoring, tuning musical instruments, sawing firewood, loading cargo, laying stoves and fireplaces, as well as performing finishing work and providing citizens with services in the field of computer programming and consulting. The list also includes services for the design of premises, interior design, furniture, clothing and footwear, graphic design, hairdressing and beauty services.

The issuance of the decree will create additional conditions for increasing the self-employment of the population and involving it in economic activity.
