September 15, Minsk / Corr. BELTA/. In Belarus, the deadlines for responding to incoming applications and reports of crimes have changed. Such information is posted on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, BelTA informs.

In early September, there were some changes in the organization of work to respond to applications and reports received by the internal affairs bodies about crimes, administrative offenses, as well as information about incidents.

Now, in the settlements where the internal affairs bodies are deployed, the squad or the investigative team are required to arrive at the scene of the crime no later than ten minutes after reporting to the operational duty service. The arrival time of law enforcement officers no longer depends on how long ago the crime was committed (more or less than an hour ago) and what information is available about the person involved.

At the same time, the period of arrival of police officers to the places of administrative offenses increased by ten minutes. The squad will arrive at such calls no later than 25 minutes later, as well as about information about other incidents that require the intervention of employees of the internal affairs bodies.

A period of 40 minutes is also fixed for the arrival of the traffic police squad to the accident sites, provided there are no victims. Previously, such facts were not singled out in a separate category. Therefore, due to the high workload of the traffic police, after 15 minutes, employees of units far from the official specifics of the State traffic inspectorate could arrive as the first outfit for the investigation. This approach was not effective enough, it was decided to change it.

In addition, the time for the arrival of investigative teams to crime scenes in rural areas and settlements where internal affairs bodies are not deployed has been reduced. Previously, law enforcement officers had the right to arrive no later than two hours later, if more than an hour had passed from the moment the crime was committed to the receipt of information about it by the operational duty service, or nothing was known about the suspect. Now the arrival time depends solely on the distance that the policemen have to overcome. If the destination is located within 30 km, then law enforcement has a maximum of one hour. If a crime is committed at a distance of more than 30 km from the internal affairs body, the arrival time will not exceed one and a half hours.

The remoteness of the settlement also affects the time of arrival of squads regarding administrative offenses and in order to verify information about other incidents requiring police intervention. After contacting the operational duty service, law enforcement officers will arrive no later than an hour and a half later to respond to calls within 30 km and within two hours they will reach places located further than this distance.

The changes also affected other issues. For example, now in the absence of information about the scene of the incident or the impossibility of determining it, the outfit will be sent to the location of the applied citizen. Another innovation concerns reports of crimes and offenses committed on the border of territories, which are served by different internal affairs bodies. If it is impossible to determine exactly in whose area of responsibility the area is located, the squad or the investigative-operational group is sent by the police department that initially received information about the incident. In addition, it is forbidden to send one policeman to the place of residence of citizens who own firearms, as well as if there is prior information that disobedience or resistance may be provided to employees.
