The Blessing of Having a Sister

One of the things that I am most thankful for in this life is growing up having so many older sisters around me. We are 9 in the family and we have only one brother. I am the 8th, our only brother is the 7th. The rest are all females. I grew up looking at my older sisters doing all the house chores meticulously. Thus, I somehow acquired such trait.

One of the most unforgettable circumstance though that I’ve been through when I can say that it is a blessing to have a lot of siblings was when our father passed away. There were a lot of us to comfort each other; provide strength and support when we needed it the most. That’s why when our firstborn was growing up, it was the husband and my desire to give her a sibling, at least one. I wanted a son just because I felt like we were too crowded already with girls but God gave us another daughter still. She is beautiful and fair so who am I to complain?

Now, our second bundle of joy continues to be a source of countless joys in our household. She is so energetic that she can wear everyone out by her ability to have fun and SKIP sleeping. Last night, it wasn’t until 10:32pm that she finally doze off. Can you imagine watching over her up and kicking from 2pm too 10:32pm? That’s our Tiara!

And when I and the husband are already tired from putting her to sleep but results in an epic failure, it’s the big sister who’ll rescue us!

Happiness abounds when these two precious souls play together. Oh… they are simply a haven on earth to look at!

I always thank God every day for these two precious souls who exist in our lives. Ate Triz loves her little sister very much and that is manifested through her way of playing with her and teaching her the good things she has learned in her 6 years of existence on earth. You might not believe it but Tiara, as young as she is right now, is already learning a whole lot of good and fun stuff from her big sister. And, I am glad that as early as now, Triz has already understood how beautiful it is to have a sibling. A sister at that!
