Russia will destroy falsified food products

At the present time individuals and organizations involved in counterfeiting of products, subject to administrative liability as a fine. Products manufactured with violation of manufacturing technology, as well as copying the name, logo, packaging or design of another product, refers to counterfeit.

According to the draft law, detected falsified products will be withdrawn from circulation, and the activities of unscrupulous companies will be suspend for up to 90 days. Later these confiscated products will be destroyed.

The idea of the destruction of falsification products not only on the border but also inside the country belongs to Alexander Tkachev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. Sergei Dankvert, head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision also agreed with the proposal of the Minister.

Since the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin «On individual special economic measures applied to ensure the security of the Russian Federation» came into force, almost 975 tons of food products under sanctions have been destroyed in the country.

In particular, from August 6 to November 7 this year, 699 tons of of plant products and 88 tons of animal products were destroyed.
