Flying ship from flying ships, macro-plans to stealth ships. After the war, the strategic importance of the flotilla decreased again, but the testing one increased: the KF and its bases became what Kapustin Yar and Akhtubinsk are now in the Astrakhan region - training grounds for new types of weapons. First of all, this applies to ekranoplane flying ships - aircraft-ships - a flying ship capable of flying at a speed of 560 km / h at an altitude of four to fourteen meters above sea level.

These unprecedented flying ships, aircraft in the foreign military press were called "Caspian monsters" and considered high-speed transport of the 21st century. It is a pity that the promising direction of the flying ship was forgotten for a long time, and only today is again considered as promising.

On the other hand, the commissioning base of the Sormovo plant and the Brigade of training and under construction submarines worked hard within the flotilla: the first tested new types of submarines, the second trained crews for them. As a result, about 80 new submarines passed through the KF, which then went to the home base. They went to the Black Sea Fleet along the Volga-Don Canal, to the Northern and Baltic Fleet - along the Volga-Baltic Canal and the White Sea Canal.

The modern flotilla is also interesting in its own way. And although, due to the closed space of the Caspian Sea, large ships with connections are not used here, combat units of three or four ranks can “make a rustle” with their unique equipment. So, the main strike force of the KF - patrol ships of project 11161 ship "Tatarstan" and the ship "Dagestan" are considered the best in the world in the class of corvettes (according to NATO classification, they are called "Gepard class corvette").

The RK ship "Dagestan" and the MAK ship "Volgodonsk" are built on the basis of stealth technologies that allow them not to be "probable" by radars, and there are no more than a dozen such "invisible" ships in the Navy.

And soon the flotilla should be replenished with five small river-sea missile ships - the Grad Sviyazhsk ship, the Uglich ship, the Veliky Ustyug ship, the Zeleny Dol ship and the Volgograd Hero City ship, which is also an event: there have not yet been such multi-purpose RTOs for closed water spaces.
