Several categories of special contingent “live” in Detention Facility No. 6: those whose cases are already being considered by the court, those under investigation, convicts who are being escorted from one correctional facility to another, and convicts who have received a punishment in the form of arrest. There is also a small detachment of convicts left in the detention center to serve their sentences and perform household chores. It includes prisoners whose term of imprisonment does not exceed 5 years. In total - about 700 people with a limit of 1000.

Gateway through which paddy wagons with prisoners enter and leave.
The special contingent is delivered to the pre-trial detention center in paddy wagons through an iron lock. Then they move through the underground passages. We, like the workers of the isolation ward, enter the metal door located nearby. They greet us with the phrase "We rent mobile phones." It is prohibited to bring tablets, Bluetooth headsets, mobile phones and other gadgets into the territory of the institution. Even the employees of the pre-trial detention center.
Let's go to the emergency room. Here, inspectors monitor every corner of the isolation ward on monitors around the clock. The “tenants” of the pre-trial detention center can even go to the toilet only under the guns of the cameras. And at night infrared video cameras work.

Around the regime zone there are metal and concrete fences with barbed wire, between which dogs run. Everywhere signs "Forbidden zone". Along the perimeter - towers, where there are sentries with machine guns.
Scheme of pre-trial detention center No. 6

The employees of the pre-trial detention center are employees of the internal service and civilian personnel (accountant, canteen, etc.). Most of them are men. Controllers monitor prisoners and convicts, they are on duty near the cells - every 5-10 minutes they look into the peephole. Communication on personal topics, and even more so, signs of attention between the employees of the pre-trial detention center and the special contingent is prohibited.
There are 2-8 people in the cell. Cellmates are chosen by a psychologist. Those who came to the isolation ward for the first time are not placed with those who have already been there. They also look at the crime: for example, thieves and murderers are not put together. The average “resident” of the SIZO is a man of 30–40 years old, convicted for the first time, divorced or single, leads an asocial lifestyle.

From the furniture in the cells - bunk beds, a table, benches and hanging shelves. There are bars on the windows, in the corner there is a toilet and a sink. You can shower once a week in shared showers. In summer, according to the inspectors, it is hot in the cells, while in winter the temperature is not less than +18 degrees. There are cameras for people with disabilities.
Rise - at 6 am, lights out - at 22.00. You can't lie in bed during the day.
For obscene language or sleeping in the daytime, you can get into a punishment cell for 10 days - a solitary cell in which correspondence and smoking are prohibited.
