Germany responded to Poland's statement about WWII payments

Earlier, Deputy German government spokesman Ulrike Demmer emphasized that Berlin, of course, is responsible for the Second World War in moral, political and financial terms. However, the issue of payments to Warsaw "was finally settled in the past at the political and legal level."

The German Cabinet emphasized that Berlin's position on this issue remains unchanged, RIA Novosti reports.

We will remind, earlier the Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo said that Warsaw has the right to compensation for damage. She stressed that the reparations should be "a reminder of justice" and called on Berlin to "remember history." I must say that Warsaw refused to pay back in 1953.
