How 8,000 Jews were saved by stealth during the war

It happened thanks to the heroism of two Polish doctors.

Evgeniush Lazovsky and Stanislav Matulevich conducted experiments in the pre-war period, actively studying existing bacteria. At the same time, they discovered the amazing property of the dead bacterium Proteus OX19. It turns out that if a person is injected with the Proteus OX19 vaccine, a subsequent blood test will show a positive reaction to typhoid. At the same time, as you may have guessed, the person does not have the disease itself.

And during the years of the German occupation, Evgeniush and Stanislav decided to take advantage of their discovery. They secretly vaccinated all the Jews of the town of Rozvadov and its environs, after which they sent blood samples to the Germans.

Seeing more than 8,000 people test positive for typhus, the Germans were afraid to enter the town, thinking it was an epidemic. in this way these Jews were saved from inevitable death and abuse in concentration camps.
