The main Potez 25 models for the French Air Force:
The bomb load consisted of twelve 12 kg bombs or four 50 kg bombs under the fuselage plus six 12 kg bombs under the wing. There were also civilian modifications to the aircraft, some used to carry mail in South America.
Two aircraft were built with metal fuselages and extra fuel tanks in an unsuccessful attempt to fly from Paris to New York for the first time.
Designated 25-0, they were to drop their landing gear after takeoff and land on reinforced skids on the underside of the fuselage. 25H floatplane variant built in two configurations. One had a large central float, the other twin floats.
The aircraft used various types of engines ranging from 298 to 447 kW (400-600 hp), both in-line and with a radial arrangement of cylinders.
The aircraft was used by the Air Force:
The pilot and observer were placed close to each other in tandem cockpits under a cutout in the trailing edge of the central section of the upper wing. In the observer's cockpit, coaxial 7.7 mm Lewis machine guns are mounted on the TO-7 ring.
Another machine gun is mounted motionless to fire forward. The Rotez 25 was developed by Louis Coroller based on the Rotez 24 A.2 fighter. The Rotez 25 is equipped with a new common axle chassis and specially designed shock absorbers. Chassis wheels consisted of metal spokes and rubber tires. On the ventral holders of the Rotez 25, a bomb load of about 200 kg could be installed, which increased its versatility. Variant 25 was specifically designed as a bomber.
