The US and NATO are building up their forces in the Mediterranean, American armored vehicles are being unloaded in the port of Antwerp for further shipment to the Russian borders.

The American command is conducting this action as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

The Belgian military department published information on Twitter about the arrival in the port of Antwerp of a ship with 85 M-1 Abrams tanks and a personnel of 3.3 thousand people.

According to Belgian media, the 1st Armored Brigade ("Devil's Brigade") of the 1st Texas Motorized Infantry Division of the US Army is being transferred. It is reported that at the moment up to 800 units of various equipment are being unloaded, in the future, two more transport ships with 2.5 thousand vehicles are expected to arrive.

In 2017, Poland has already received about 2,500 units of various equipment, including 87 Abrams tanks, 18 Paladin self-propelled howitzers, 144 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and other armored vehicles, as well as wheeled and tracked engineering vehicles.

At the same time, 3,500 US Army personnel were delivered on transport aircraft. The headquarters of the compound was stationed in the Polish city of Zhagan. In total, it was planned to transfer up to 6,000 armored vehicles to Poland, of which, presumably, 3,600 were tanks intended for four reinforced brigades, whose personnel would be instantly airlifted to Europe if necessary.

Thus, the military cordon will be stretched from Estonia to Bulgaria. Against the background of the events taking place in Belgium, the statement of Vice Admiral James Foggo sounded very resonant. The military explained that his subordinate "naval forces are ready to defend themselves."

We remind you that in April, an aircraft carrier strike group arrived in the Mediterranean, which included the aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman and a missile cruiser armed with Tomahawks and five destroyers. At the same time, from three to eight American destroyers are present there on a rotational basis. In the area of responsibility of the US 6th Fleet (specifically in the eastern Mediterranean) there are also two nuclear submarines of the US Navy, one French and one German frigate.

A network of British and US Air Force bases has been deployed in the region. And this still needs to be taken into account a certain number of Turkish, Greek, Italian and Spanish warships and air forces. In fact, NATO continues to develop rapid reaction forces in Europe.

In fact, although there have been no wars on the European continent for quite a long time, they are constantly “trying on” military operations. Western countries are constantly winding themselves with fear of terrible Russia, while getting closer and closer to its borders.

Although, according to the Swedish publication Svenska Dagbladet, if someone decides to attack Russia, will he be ready for action in difficult terrain, and also keep in mind the Russians themselves, who have vast experience in warfare?

Anyone who takes it into his head to take over Russia must first remember impenetrable swamps, frozen tundra, endless forests and bare mountains. So, the invaders will have to operate in unbearable conditions of harsh winters and hot summers.

And if we recall the Russians themselves, who have vast experience of participating in full-scale wars, while at the same time well using guerrilla warfare behind enemy lines, then an attack on this country seems generally unpromising, sums up Svenska Dagbladet.

It seems that Napoleon and Hitler could put their signatures under the article in the Swedish edition. The same armies of the NATO countries, accustomed to moving along comfortable roads, are unlikely to be able to travel far along the paths of the Russian hinterland.

In fact, in Russia, therefore, tank armored vehicles are so well developed, which can safely move in any road conditions, and even where there are no roads at all. In fact, the Russian army is adapted to war in any part of the world simply because all climatic and territorial zones are familiar to it.

Western armies are not ready for this. In this regard, we can recall the Winter Camp exercise, which took place in Estonia this winter. The poor British soldiers were forced to wade waist-deep in snow, sleeping in tents, while the air temperature dropped below 19 degrees below zero. All this was a serious test for them - the military of the United Kingdom are accustomed to more greenhouse conditions.

At the same time, the US Department of Defense intends to appoint a general who will plan a possible conflict with Russia and China.

According to The Times, Washington will have to take into account the peculiarities of "old Cold War enemies." At the same time, experts note that in the event of a fight with China, the United States will need to rely on the fleet, and in the variant with a war against Russia, on land and air forces.

The publication notes that as part of the national defense strategy, the United States is reorienting from counter-terrorism operations to confrontation with "old Cold War enemies."

Experts conclude that difficult times are on the horizon, “a big fight is coming,” so the United States is going to “expand its presence” in the region, given the “growing threat” from Russia and the Pacific region. It is here that a serious conflict will begin in the near future, the general convinced the listeners.

“The US and NATO, accustomed to cheap and easy victories (at least in the short term - in the long term, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Kosovo can hardly be considered victories at all), will experience a severe shock if they happen to meet with the Russian armed forces ", - military experts noted.

“Rule number one on the front page of a war book is: Don’t go on a campaign against Moscow.” Different people tried to do this, both Napoleon and Hitler, and nothing good came of it, military experts concluded.
