Do not forget that this is an election year for Poland. The term of office of the current head of state expires in August 2020, and, therefore, the election race has already begun. Such decisions are nothing but a PR campaign by Duda, aimed at demonstrating decisive actions and fearlessness against the main aggressor of Poland - Russia. The Polish public, for the most part, should appreciate the foreign policy efforts of the current president, who, by the way, did not remember much during his presidential term.

All that they could think of in Poland on the occasion of the documents published in Russia in the presence of the leaders of the CIS member states was to adopt a resolution that equalized the responsibility of the USSR and Germany for unleashing the Second World War.

The reaction of the Russian Foreign Ministry was not long in coming. The official representative of the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called what happened in Poland a “victory of ideology over truth”:

“One gets the that “science has been declared heresy by the Polish Sejm, and the supporters of historical facts have impression been accused by it of witchcraft.”

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry suggested not to stop there and to express doubts about the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal: “The truth was recorded by the Nuremberg Tribunal. If the Polish Sejm doubts his decisions, then it should be declared so.”
