According to him, electronic handcuffs will be used only for non-dangerous convicts. Such a measure, according to the head of the DIN, will reduce the number of persons serving their sentences in the institutions of the penitentiary system.

Doroshko also noted that much has already been done to bring the institutions of the penitentiary system to the current state, in terms of everyday and regime issues, in medical care.

At the same time, he stressed that Belarus is studying foreign experience in this matter and using the best.

“I'll tell you honestly: we only need a couple of years to complete our plans, and the Belarusian penitentiary system will be one of the best in the world,” the head of the DIN said.

He noted that the experience of Germany is preferable for Belarus, where convicts must work in some federal states, because it is useful from the point of view of education, besides, in a colony a person receives a working specialty and, having been released, can get a job.

Doroshko noted that the average age of prisoners in the MLS in Belarus is 35-40 years, that is, the most active.

Liberation at Khutor-Agro

The head of the Penitentiary Service also said that the first diversified agro-industrial enterprise in Belarus “Khutor-Agro”, where some prisoners will be released, will start working from January next year.

“This is a good help, especially for those who have nowhere to go. We will restore their passports and other documents, offer them housing and work,” Doroshko said.

According to him, there is a pig farm, a sausage shop, a feed mill.

About hockey

The enterprise of the DIN system has made a sports uniform for young hockey players, Doroshko noted.

“We gave 50 sets for experimental wear to the Dynamo children's and youth sports school. Now the enterprise in IK-4 has already begun serial production of these products, ”he specified.

According to the head of DIN, the kit will be 40% cheaper than the brand analogues offered on the market.

After criticizing the president, Belarusian Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Igor Shunevich, who is also the chairman of the supervisory board of HC Dynamo-Minsk, said he intended to instruct DIN to sew uniforms for young hockey players.
